Shabbat shalom to all of you who are reading this. This is the seventh day of the week. On this day, we turn our hearts and minds to the fourth commandment. We study scripture, rest, and sanctify this day as Yah sanctified it.
We read portions from the Torah, Prophets and the New Covenant. We use the annual cycle, in which the reading of the Torah is accomplished in a year. We do this to learn, to teach and to never forget. If anyone tells you that Torah is boring, they are wrong! As you grow in life and in understanding, you see the same readings in a different light. If you read scripture and see nothing new when you read, something is wrong with you.
With that being said, here are the readings for the week:
- Re’eh Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17 Isaiah 54:11-55:5
1C 5:9-13; 1Y 4:1-6
May we all find rest, truth and fellowship!
